Tamara (Tammy) Fitzgerald joined PKSOI in August 2016. She is a career member of the U.S. Senior Foreign Service, with the rank of Counselor. Since 1990, Ms. Fitzgerald has served at the U.S. Embassies in Port of Spain, Moscow, Minsk, Berlin, Canberra, and Baghdad. She has also served as U.S. Deputy Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition on Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague, as Arms Control Counselor in the U.S. Mission to International Organizations in Vienna, as POLAD in ISAF HQ’s CJ-9 in Kabul working on governance in PRTs, and as POLAD to Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT). Ms. Fitzgerald has also worked in the Department of State in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, dealing with arms control and military treaties.
Ms. Fitzgerald graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in Central and East European Affairs and Russian language studies, and from the National War College with an M.S. in strategic studies. She served in West Berlin in the mid-1980s as a U.S. Army Russian linguist. She is married.
